Impact of physical activity and movement on the development of gross motor skills in Initial 2 children
Abstract
The structured practice of physical exercises has a significant impact on psychomotor development, especially when it is established as an essential pillar for the comprehensive formation of the child during this stage. The objective of the research was aimed at designing a set of playful activities, based on the neuropsychomotor approach, to promote the development of gross motor skills in children in Early Education 2. The research was structured under a qualitative methodological approach, with a non-experimental design through a case study, adopting a descriptive scope. The validation process of the proposal was carried out using the focus group technique. Meanwhile, the descriptive assessment of the dimensions and indicators was conducted through contextualized observation and evaluation using a checklist. The sample was defined by a group of 10 children who have difficulties in gross motor skills. With the implementation of the playful activities system, notable transformations were generated in the students' gross motor development, reaching 'in process' and 'acquired' levels. The design of games with a neuropsychomotor approach enhanced physical abilities and functional autonomy, causing progressive advances in the achievement of motor skills.
